my son(at korea now) build a computer about 1 month ago. everything was so fine

untill this msg came up "bootmgr is missing, press ctrl+alt+del"

my son told me to put a win7 install cd to drive, and reboot computer and press any key when computer ask me to press any thing.
but the problem starts from there, when monitor shows 'press any key to boot from cd' cant press any key. even i press it, nothing happend. just stay there until i turn it off.
so i went to bios to check my cd-rom is connected, its good. computer recognize the cd-rom.
he said just reinstall it. but i cant......

anybody had similar problem before or know how to solve this problem???
    please help me.
    good bless.

Welcome to Seven Forums, first of all! Let's see what we can do to help you. I have a set of questions for you:

    1. Do you have any external hard drives plugged into the computer? If so, try unplugging them and rebooting. Sometimes USB hard drives are thought to be bootable by the BIOS yet Windows cannot run off a USB device. Shame. Makes no sense, but oh well.

    2. It sounds like you can access your BIOS. Is your keyboard plugged in via a PS/2 (round) connection or a USB connection?

    3. When you say nothing happens when you try to "press any key", does it just sit there and eventually disappear after a few seconds since nothing happened and try to boot normally or does it freeze altogether?

    Thanks!
