    Windows 7 x64 BSOD (PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA - 0x00000050)


    Hi,

    I was just coding like usual, when suddenly when testing my whole system froze and shut down with a BSOD.
    I don't know if this is caused by my wrong code, the recently installed Catalyst 10.12 drivers of defective hardware.

    My system is not even an half year old and afaik there were no outrageous temperatures (never have those anyway).

    Event viewer stated an ID 41 Kernel Power error.

    - x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? x64
    - the original installed OS on the system? None
    - an OEM or full retail version? Installed OEM myself

    - What is the age of system (hardware)? Bought June this year
    - What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) Also June

    Several problems

    1-sptd.sys

    Please remove any CD virtualization programs such as Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120%. They use a driver, found in your dmp, sptd.sys, that is notorious for causing BSODs. Use this SPTD uninstaller when you're done: DuplexSecure - Downloads
    You can use MagicDisc as an alternative.

    2-Eset AV. Remove and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials

    How To Find Drivers:
    - search Google for the name of the driver
    - compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
    - visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
    - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

    I dont see the problem either with using ESET.

    And why should he remove VMNAT? isnt he allowed to use a Virtual Machine anymore? also these 'old' drivers are all VMWare drivers and cannot simply be updated if there even is a new version.
