Death Upon Boot

Now I cannot even boot up into anything. Continues to crash outright. Made me assume an overheating event, but nothing feels too hot. Video card is semi-hot, cpu heat sinks are not even warm to the touch.

The last file the system tries to load when going to boot is an AVG file, which makes me think that might be the cause. Sadly at the moment, I cannot even access the harddrive to delete AVG to test this theory. I am afraid a reformat is incoming. If you think it is more likely hardware let me know before I wipe my hd.

EDIT: I managed to use another harddrive with XP to be the master so that I could access the other drive. Since the computer will boot to xp and safemode using this drive, I assume that we can rule out hardware issues and focus on drivers as earlier stated.

BTW I cannot disable rdyboost.sys, even in safe mode with full administrator access. It keeps blocking me. Was able to remove AVG however, which lets me back into safe mode now.

To troubleshoot which driver or device it might be, I disconnected my sound card and uninstalled the drivers for it. The issue of crashing during boot is still present.

Well, I gave in and just did a clean reformat and reinstall of Windows 7 64 bit. Note, this is using an upgrade disk to go from Vista to Windows 7.

After doing this, I began to reinstall drivers. 15 minutes into this process, the computer hard crashed again by a 0×80000000000000 error. Since the dump file should only include this last crash's information, the attached should hopefully be up to date and useful for debugging.

Any assistance into pinpointing the problem hardware or possibly software is well appreciated. I am dead in the water at the moment, since a reinstall did not seem to help me at all.

Hayden,
In preparation of dire problems and also for such cases of restoration from a system image backup, I STRONGLY recommend making a System Repair Disc.

This is NOT a system restore disc.

This is a hardware issue from what I can tell. Clean reformat did not solve this issue.

Still could use some guidance, would prefer not to purchase new hardware at random and 'hope' to get it right.
