Hi! The problem is really a stuck key as said by some of the posters in this thread. I experienced this earlier. I am an IT professional working in a company. One of our end users visited me to solve this kind of problem. This was the first time I encountered such a problem so I googled it (thanks to this thread :)).
Before the OS (Windows 7 Home Premium) loaded, beeps were heard (HDD LED indicator simultaneously lit). At first, I thought that it was a hard disk problem. But when I restarted the laptop then pressing F12 on the startup and opted to boot from the HDD where the OS is located, there was no problem.
Let's go back to the original problem. As the beep stopped, Windows has started and worked normally, except for this strange thing: a desktop icon at the bottom is always highlighted and it would only move when pressing arrow keys. Because of this, I decided to test the keys by using word-processing software. Tada!!! "End" key was not working so I had to press the key several times 'til the key responded. I can now select the icon I want on the desktop and the major problem is solved -that is, very irritating beeps.
