Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit Regular BSOD Errors, please help.

    Hi,
I have been experiencing BSOD errors for some time now on my DELL Inspiron 580, and I am assuming that it is one or more incorrect/out of date drivers that are causing this issue.

I can see the BSOD errors when I log back in, for example:
    ---------------------------------------------------------
    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
    OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3
    Locale ID: 6153

    Additional information about the problem:
    BCCode: 4a
    BCP1: 000007FEFD94BC3A
    BCP2: 0000000000000002
    BCP3: 0000000000000000
    BCP4: FFFFF88006FB8520
    OS Version: 6_1_7600
    Service Pack: 0_0
    Product: 768_1

Files that help describe the problem:
    C:\Windows\Minidump\123010-17721-01.dmp
    C:\Users\Noel\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-34866-0.sysdata.xml
    ---------------------------------------------------------
but I cannot read the .dmp files produced.

I have attached 2 examples of the .dmp files incase they might reveal different issues.

Please can someone review them and provide me with some guidance/direction as to what the problem might be?

Much appreciated and thanks in advance,

    Regards,
    Noel

    Hi Noel

Both of these were caused by USB

One the USBPORT.sy and one USBehci.sys. Both part of the OS.

I would run a system file check to verify and repair them.
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

There may be more USB problems but these are the easiest to fix so we should do them first.

ok still have issues after this:
    ================================================
    C:\Windows\system32>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
    Verification 100% complete.
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.
Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example
    C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log
    ================================================

so I extracted the SR tags from the CBS.log file using:
    C:\Windows\system32>findstr /c:"[SR]" %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log >%userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt

and I got the follow errors:

Well because there are corrupt files that cant be repaired you are going to need to run a repair install from the win 7 dvd.

Be sure to make a backup and restore point before

Ah, ok, see the problem is that while trying to create a backup earlier it crashed in the middle of it. So I may or may not be able to do that, but will give it ago again.

Is the following not an option then? or just not advisable?
Extract Files from Windows 7 Installation DVD

Note: as this is a DELL PC it's an OEM installation and I have a Reinstallation DVD, is that ok for either of the above?

Unfortunately Dell (and I have one) doesn't include an OS dvd. Your re0install/restore dvd may just set the computer back to where it was when it cam out of the factory. You would then lose everything installed since then. Not good.

You can extract the files but it would be easier if you just re-installed (repair).

You will need a win 7 dvd though.
