Windows 7: BSOD constantly

BSOD constantly

I seem to get BSOD while gaming, I suspect it is likely that the video card is over heating, but I'm not certain. I've run memtest and stress tests without being able to replicate a BSOD or any errors.

My system is windows 7 64 bit home premium retail. It's been happening for most of the time since I built the machine about a year ago but as I've been gaming more and it's summer now it's hapening much more often

Hello,

It appears this is a hardware issue; in particular, I suspect the CPU an video card.

First, check your computer's temperatures, using Speedfan.

Are you overclocking at all? If so, reset to stock settings.

Finally run a couple of hardware tests:

RAM: RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Prime95: https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...t-prime95.html

Furmark: Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

I ran some tests like you descrbed.

My CPU seems to get to about 60 degrees (celsius) and my video card gets to about 90 degrees. So I certainly need to work on some cooling

You'll notice it wasn't just a single core that reported an error; it was cores 0,1,2,3,4, and 6. I see you have 4 physical cores; in order for 8 logical cores to be reported, hyperthreading must obviously be enabled.

A wild shot, disable hyperthreading in the BIOS. That probably won't work; it's worth a try however, no matter how unlikely.

What power supply are you using? Did the 500W you report in your system specs come with the case, or did you buy it separately?

I'd say start looking for a new motherboard; check with the local PC shop, see if they will sell you one, and allow you to try it out or return it if need be. Maybe you can try RMAing your current board as well; if it comes out clean, all you've lost is the cost of shipping.
