    BSOD 0x0000007f Help

    Hi,

Recently I've been getting several BSODs and I wonder if anyone can help me out.

I'm running 7HP x64 on a 6 month old Sony Vaio VPCE with a clean installation which I did when the laptop was new.

There seems to be no obvious trigger when the system crashes, it crashes when working or idling.

It hasn't been a huge problem over Christmas as I've been using my PC but now I'm back at university I cannot afford to have my laptop crashing on me like it has so any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you need any further information, I'll do the best I can to help.

    Cheers

    First off.

Uninstall ZoneAlarm. Guaranteed the 100% killer of your computer at the moment.
Make sure Windows firewall is back on. it's plenty good enough and far better than the XP version.

Thanks, I had a feeling that would be the case.

What is it about ZA on 7 that causes problems? I ran it on XP and vista for years and years without a single problem.

    TBH, I don't know!!

    Just know it is.

Bit like AVG now, know what I mean?

Things change, but they'll change back no doubt.

Other stuff might need updating though so keep an eye out on your thread.

    G'Luck!!

If you get more issues eddcase, uninstall AVG in, preferably, Safe Mode (Tap F8 at bios, your PC might be different) using the 64bit(?) uninstaller, just do a google for it or someone will hit you with a link, mines gone AWOL. Replace with MSE.

    Pleased to meet you mate.
