BOSD after upgrading java and ati driver

Hi all, wonder if anyone is able to help me debug what is causing my bluescreen.

Below are my specs:
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Processor: Intel 8400 core 2 duo
Ram: Cosair 4 GB
Graphics card: ATI/AMD 4850

System has been stable till my recent update of java and ATI Catalyst Control Center. Has reverted to previous version of Java and ATI CCC but bluescreen still pops up randomly though not as frequent.

Can anyone help? I have attached the BOSD Log. Thanks.

Defective hardware is the cause (0x124)
See this for more information and possible fixes
Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try

Code:
BugCheck 124, {0, fffffa800500c8f8, 0, 0}

Probably caused by : hardware
Other dumps blames your graphic drivers

- Boot into safe mode with networking
- Uninstall the ATI drivers including Catalyst Control Center
- Use driver sweeper to remove leftover ATI display driver files Guru3D - Driver Sweeper
- Install the latest drivers http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloa...n_win7-64.aspx
- Reboot into normal mode

If that does not work try a System Restore

Code:
Probably caused by : dxgmms1.sys ( dxgmms1!VIDMM_PROCESS_HEAP::Free+a2 )

Hi yowanvista, thanks for your quick reply. Is there any way to determine which is the hardware causing it, if problem persist after the driver sweeper program?

You will need to test each component separately or take your machine to a repair outlet for tests
