    Bsod

    win7 x64
full version retail on custom build- about 3 months since last reinstall with no problems since.
had some original problems solved here.

    been fine for months.

then started with bsod several times/week.
It didnt matter what i was doing .

i thought it was due to an updated nvidia gt240 driver. so i read the solution was to rollback to the one on the cd.
worked fine for an hour then got bluescreen again.

Hi, hometech. The most recent dump you uploaded is dated 12/12/2010 and the next latest dump is date in September. There are no dumps from January. Do you have more recent dumps? Based on the December dump, I see some out of date drivers loaded on your system. The Saitek drivers are particularly obsolete. Outdated drivers can and do cause conflicts, memory corruption, and BSOD's. Update the following drivers or uninstall the hardware or software they are associated with. There is an updated driver for xtouch.sys. After you take care of these drivers, reboot and see if this helps your system. Post back and let us know. Upload any more recent dumps.
    AsUpIO.sys Sun Jul 05 22:21:38 2009 - Asus utility driver. ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-.

    - Unknown driver - suspect it's part of Saitek device (Saitek HDD Filter Driver). Download drivers and software for Saitek products. Update this driver or unistall the software it is associated with.

Saibad64.sys Mon Oct 27 23:56:15 2008 - Saitek Volume Filter Driver. Download drivers and software for Saitek products. See above.

SaibVdAd64.sys Mon Oct 27 23:56:20 2008 - Saitek Virtual Disk Driver. Download drivers and software for Saitek products. See above.

xtouch.sys Mon Jul 06 06:31:58 2009 - eGalaxTouch Device Driver, Touchscreen. http://home.eeti.com.tw/web20/eGalax.../W7Driver.htm; EETI eGalax Touch.

    drat!

I ran the dump program and report new on the date of my post- and I uploaded the zip file that had the date of my post.

Win7 even put a (2) after the name to distinguish from the first one in sept.

That makes no sense- but i am at work. i will look again at home where the pc is.

question-If its the same problem over & over, would it put the date it first happened (maybe in dec?)

    Thanks

Each time there is a BSOD, it should create a new dump file dated the day it was created. Dumps are stored in C:\Windows\Minidump. But go ahead and update those drivers I listed and see how your system does.

    Hi & thanks

    I updated the xtouch.

The asus- i think i did that last time. i have the latest asus update installed from my motherboard page.

now- the saitek stuff- i have none of their products.

also, in searching for this, that link you give and many other bsod threads who say to update that driver give a link to saitek that has drivers for joysticks, mice, flight controllers, etc.

there IS no way to get these 3 drivers and many responses in threads have said so.

I would think that the issue of these 3 Saitek drivers (who, what, when, how, etc) would be known already- and what is dumping them in our system if we dont have a saitek controller.

I have had several bsod since december, but the last dump in minidump IS december. does it not make a new one if same problem?
When the bsod happens, i see ntfs.sys as the lines on the bottom of the screen says they are collecting memory for physical dump or something.

Very good. That can be a critical one to your system.

That is the very best source to get your drivers. Good job.

It is possible that something else uses the Saitek drivers; that would not be an unusual situation at all. What you can do is rename those drivers. Do a search of your C: drive for each of the Saitek drivers using Windows Explorer. When you find the particular driver, rename every instance of it from .sys to .old. There will probably be at least two instances of each driver. Do this for each Saitek driver. Reboot and the drivers will not load. This will break whatever software or hardware they are associated with.

It sound to me like your system is set for a memory dump instead of a mini dump. Memory dumps are huge files and most of us here cannot work with them. They are to big to be uploaded to the forum also. Anytime there is a BSOD, a dump, either memory or mini, is created - even if it is identical to previously created dump.

Read the last part of the first post in this tutorial. It will show you how to setup your computer for mini dumps. https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...en-forums.html

    Hi

I set for minidump (hopefully wont get more bsod :)

but the drivers are only in system32\drivers

    I have win7 ult x64

I changed all 3 to .old and rebooted.

I got the windows swirl for a sec, then a flash of a blue screen, then reboot, then the black page with start windows normally or the repair choice (which i did to do system restore.)

If you did a system restore, you most likely undid the driver renaming. I did some digging and found the locations and software the Saitek drivers are associated with: Roxio BackonTrack(?). Your version of Roxio is obsolete. I suggest you completely uninstall this software. Here is where the drivers are found on your computer:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Roxio\BackOnTrack\App\Drivers\Sahdad64.sys

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Roxio\BackOnTrack\App\Drivers\Saibad64.sys

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Roxio\BackOnTrack\Disaster Recovery\Drivers\SaibVdAd64.sys

ok- will try that when home from work.

i only had searched in the Windows directory.

My version of Roxio is current at Creator 2011 so they must have old drivers.

Ill see if I can uninstall that portion of the suite.

That version of Roxio is current. Rather than uninstall Roxio, try renaming those two drivers and see what program that breaks. Then you can uninstall that program. Locate the drivers, rename from .sys to .old and reboot. They will not load.
