    BSOD dumping physical memory...


    Hello, i've been getting this error a lot, for a little over two months now, and i've had just about enough with it now -.-
    the blue screen just shows up randomly, i don't necessarily need to be doing anything specific, just the usual: browsing the internet, listening to a lecture, typing in ms word, or even scanning the laptop...etc. i can't really remember what started the error, cuz as i mentioned, it's been a long time.
    I'm attaching the zip file with everything in the minidump folder. can someone help me? would be very thankful

    These crashes were mostly caused by memory corruption. I would run memtest to test your memory

    Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.


    Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot. Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

    I agree with Ken; some serious memory corruption is occurring. I don't see any drivers that would cause this, so RAM is most likely the culprit. Follow his directions for a memory test.

    thank you both for your replies :)
    I am willing to check the memory as you suggested, but i'm not really a computer wiz :S i mean, i'm hesitating... will it damage the laptop if i mess up? will it cause any memory loss?
    I downloaded Microsoft security essentials yesterday instead of bitDefender, and miraculously, haven't gotten a BSOD till now! :) could it have solved the problem???

    Glad to hear BSODs have subsided.

    It is possible Bit Defender corrupted, but I can't imagine it causing that much OS corruption. Keep an eye on it, see what happens.

    Running Memtest86 won't hurt anything, nor is there anything you can do wrong that would harm it.

    thanks again for your reply, i'm a bit busy studying for my exams, so i'll postpone the memory test a little while, but i am definitely going to do it, i'll follow your advice :)

    Good luck on the exams!

    You might consider running Memtest86 overnight; you don't have to sit and watch it. Of course, for a college student, "overnight" might only be a few hours!
