Problems after critical update

Hi

I woke on Thursday morning last week to my machine in a constant boot loop, with a BSOD appearing over and over. I tried startup recovery and system restore, neither of which were able to make changes.

In the end, I just reinstalled Windows 7 64 bit, but am now experiencing problems like RPC servers errors (exeption from HRESULT).

I went to services.msc and could not change the recovery option in RPC to restart service. The recovery option are greyed out.

The odd thing is my windows now has a completely different look to when I first installed it.

I am not reluctant to allow windows to do an auto update, so I don't know what to do. I have no issue doing a completely fresh install, but it does seem and extreme solution.

Any help gladly accepted

Regards

honkin

Tell me ... is a reinstall more extreme than an unstable OS? ... Personally, I can perform a clean install in under 10 minutes ... not an extreme option IMO ... however, you can go to c:/windows/minidump and upload any .dmp files, and we'll take a look at them...

Thanks for your reply.

A 10 minute install of Windows 7. Are you using an image? A normal install is much longer than that, as we are talking or reinstalling every piece of software as well.

Having said that, this was not anything that was done from this end. Windows did what it said was a critical update which left me in this state when I woke.

It now has become quite unstable at various times.

I have uploaded the files, though I am unsure you will find much. The new install of Windows 7 left me with a Windows.old folder, which I deleted. I would expect that the error files would have been in there, but since I had no need for 2 windows folders, it was deleted.

I did find it odd that Windows 7 did not offer me the opportunity of installing on top of the previous install.

By the way, I tried to upload the 3 .dmp files in the new Windows install folder, but .dmp files are not valid files for uploading.

cheers

This was just the base install, although I always keep up to date images on an external drive .. To upload the .dmp files, first you need to zip them up, then attach them to your next post...

yes, an image is something I must get in the habit of keeping. So much easier to get back up and running.

Here are those 3 dump files and thanks
