    Regular crash after startup

    Hi guys,

Had a problem for the last few days with system crashing after a few minutes, no blue screen and I'm at a bit of a loss to what's happening.

It happened once a few days ago after a few hours of startup and since then it seems to happen a few minutes after startup, to the point where I cant get . I can't really think of what could have started this except changing to microsoft security essentials, which I have now uninstalled but there is still a problem.

I've attached the crash files, I hope someone can help, feel pretty useless right now! Let me know if you need any more information, sorry its a bit vague.

    Cheers

Your attachment contains no .dmp files.
Go to your C:\Windows\Minidump folder. Copy the .dmp files to a new folder on your desktop. Zip up that folder and attach to a post.

No dumps files exist in C:\Windows\Minidump, because none have been written.

I see Chrome.exe is doing an awful lot of crashing; I suspect a network problem is present. Most likely, your old Realtek Ethernet drivers are the cause; dated 05/11/2009. Install these updated ones: Realtek

Enable driver verifier, if that does not help: Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

When the system BSODs, upload a new jcgriff2 report.

I did both those things, got the usual crash after updating, got a BSOD on startup after enabling driver verifier.

    I've attached the new file.

I noticed there were still some McAfee drivers in the list. I un-installed this months ago and I noticed that in the event viewer I'm getting McShield.exe stuff coming up like:

"The McShield service terminated with service-specific error The cluster network interface already exists.."

Don't know if its significant but I've messed around with a few antivirus programs which probably doesn't help the situation.

Thanks for your help so far, sorry for the slow reply!

The dump clearly shows dne64x.sys as the probable cause; that is your Cisco VPN client. Remove it, see what happens.

Those McAfee drivers should be removed; use this tool: http://download.mcafee.com/products/...tches/MCPR.exe

Having trouble uninstalling the cisco vpn client, doing it in safe mode (got windows installer to work) but I get internal error 2738. Searched it on google and other people on vista have had this problem installing the vpn. Not sure what to do, use the vista fix? Use another program to uninstall it?

    Cheers

You could give Revo Uninstaller a try. You only need the Free version, not "Revo Pro".

CISCO is proving to be very difficult to uninstall. Revo can't find an installation package and the windows installer always fails with the same internal error.

I think I'm going to reinstall windows, if CISCO is the problem its not going to be easy to remove and I need a computer soon. Thanks for your help guys.

Revo should be able to scans and manually delete the package.

Reinstalling Windows isn't a bad idea, though we can manually remove the Cisco package if you like.
