Eratic Crashes

I have an HP G62-340US running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. I purchased the first of these computers in early Dec 2010 and it began crashing on day 2. I returned it after Day 11 and got another one that didn't crash until day 11. I found the following for each of the crashes. The only difference between the messages is the last 5 digits on line BCP4
Shut down unexpectedly
Problem signature
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033

Extra information about the problem
BCCode: 7f
BCP1: 0000000000000008
BCP2: 0000000080050033
BCP3: 00000000000006F8
BCP4: FFFFF80002C44EC0
OS Version: 6_1_7600
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 768_1

I've done memory and hard drive tests which come back ok. HP had me do a Run-in test which did 67 iterations over 20 hours. I finally terminated the test because it wasn't going to stop it appeared. When I did it said everything was ok.

I'm clueless and would really like to get the machine stable, but failing that to get my money back which will be hard if HP says there is no hardware problem. Help! Thanks. Bill Steiner

Hi Bill,

If you've got ZoneAlarm firewall installed......

ZoneAlarm firewall is known to be a cause of BSOD's on some Win 7 systems. Download the Zone Alarm remover. Boot to safe mode and run the Zone Alarm remover.. Reboot. Make sure the more than adequate Windows Firewall is enabled.

I've done as you suggested - uninstalled Zone Alarm and activated Windows Firewall. Hope it works. How can companies have programs that crash Windows?!? I've read that AVG does it as well.
Thanks!
