Do you want the data it gives or just let you know if there were any errors or anything with any of the tests?
Because right now I've been running them all for about 12 hours each now and so far no known errors or failures of what evers...
Atleast that I can tell. I see after going threw everything that I see "test passed" alot.
I'm going to let them run until 10am today then close them down. If there is any data its supposed to supply I'll save in case you want it.
If you get any failures, post the results. If everything passes. you can just let us know that.
It was all clear no errors were found. I doubled check everything before I stopped them and closed it down. I was talking to my father about the stress test I was doing last night and he said I shouldn't have turned all my cooling on to max. I mean I figured that would be better because if it did start to heat up from the stress test I didn't want all my 6 cores to burn out...
Would that have been a bad thing or was that fine to do? I didn't have a CPU clock and I couldn't install one in safe mode so I couldn't monitor it with regularly to make sure of anything so just in precaution I just chilled my computer to be safe...
If temps run too high you should stop the test. However, max cooling might prevent the test from showing something was defective. The idea is to run the test until the temps level off. That is max stress. It really doen't matter if the leveling off point is 50 C or 70 C. You should not allow the temps to exceed the maximum recommended by the manufacture. We don't want to damage hardware.
Have you tried another PSU yet?
We couldn't find another that was 750w, but I'll ask again for another that I can use and instead of powering everything in my computer I'll have it just power the mother board, vid card, and main hard drive. A lesser 250w should do fine on that...
It's going to take me a little bit longer than I hoped... I forgot to mention that everything in my PC is SATA other than the motherboard of course and vid card. And now that we are apparently snowed in right now can't go get one. For now. When the plowers come through maybe then.
We might have a working SATA PSU if not then I'll just have to go out and buy one... Don't really want to yet, but if I must I will...
After an argument with my father... We tried it his way unfortunately I forgot to back up some minor game data that didn't matter anyways so when I formatted my main drive I lost stuff, but owell. It seems however reformatting it worked. I'm making a image of the fresh formatted drive on an external so if this happens again all my data is safe.
If things go wrong again first thing I'll do will try the PSU like you suggested and rub it in my dads face... Although I hope that doesn't have to happen...
But mentioning the PSU it was strange, but after I put my PSU back in after taking it out to get ready for the test PSU my computer seemed to work fine again. A little slow, but worked for like... 10 mins then crashed again with the same errors. That only made me believe more it was the PSU like you suggested before, but in the end I formatted it and it seems to be working fine now. Like I said I'm making an image just in case again. This image wont have any traces of corruption. I've been very eerie about using the internet until I made the image.
My father's reason for the crashes was the fact that the viruses I got before the crashing corrupted a file in the main Windows files that was no able to be seen by us.
If anything happens again like I said I'll try what you said and come back here.
