    BSoD driving me crazy-please help

Hello all thank you for taking your time to take a look at my problems...

My computer is brand new just bought all the parts for Christmas and put together and started it up that day. I've been running it with no problems for about 3-1/2 weeks now. Jan 12 2011. The dreaded war starts. I can't open Windows 7(64bit) in normal mode or I get 0x000000A and if I start up in Safe mode(w/ internet) I get 0x000003B.

I can ONLY open in safe mode. Originally it was just a virus issue, but I fixed that in safe mode deleting it from the system, but after that is when the BSoD started to come into play. Sometimes after I try a recovery back to Thursday (its the latest I can go back apparently) It'll run fine for a few hours, but after the night ends and morning comes back I turn my computer back on and I get the same issues all over again.

Yesterday when I looked up the first problem 0x000000A someone suggested a Hotfix by Microsoft and I tried it and it worked... For the night. Since then still can't get my computer running right. They said it was supposed to help, but it didn't.

Today I'm out of ideas. I'm tempted just to reformat my whole computer and start over and hopefully that fixes the problem, but then I found this place and I want to take a last chance before I do anything to big to my computer.

I hope someone who reads this can help me.

I cannot get into normal mode for a long enough time to download and use the "
BSOD Dump & System File Collection app"

EDIT: I was able to download the app onto my external HD from my laptop and when I was surprisingly able to get into normal mode i started to run the program... However half way through my computer crashed again, but this time with 0xD1 error.

Now I'm logging into safe mode to try it in there instead. The computer crashed before I even got into safe mode again, but I just got into it again... Don't know for how long, but I'll try the app again...

I just stared the app in safe mode and when that's done I'll place everything on my external and post it in this thread...

RECENT EDIT: All I was able to get was the dump and what not I couldn't get the perfmon or what ever it's called.

Hi, Xero; and welcome to the forum. Boot into the safe mode and try to run the tool. There will be some files that you cannot get; but that's OK. You will get the dumps. We will be glad to try to help you.

You did a good job with the files. Most everything is there. I looked at your four most recent dumps. Each blames a Windows system core file or a Windows system driver. It is highly unlikely that any of these are the real cause. Each of the dumps indicate memory corruption. The four dumps I looked at show uptimes of less than a minute. If I read your first post correctly, you get crashes in the Safe mode also, just not as frequently. Sometimes crashes during the booting process are indicative of a faulty PSU. Do you have access to another power supply you can try? Crashes in the safe mode usually mean a hardware problem.

I suggest that you start by testing your RAM with Memtest following the instructions in this tutorial: RAM - Test with Memtest86+. Run Memtest from a cold boot after your computer has been off for an hour or two. Let it run for at least 7 passes. This will take 6-8 hours. If you see errors, you can stop the test. Post back with the results. Memtest runs outside of Windows; so Windows will not be a factor in this test.

Have you tried removing all of your RAM except one stick and booting? If so, does the computer run on one stick without crashing?

When you get your system stable enough, I recommend that you uninstall AVG using this removal tool: Tool (64 bit). If you have Identity Protection installed, remove it with this tool: Tool. AVG is a known cause of BSOD's on some Win 7 systems. Download and install Microsoft Security Essentials in its place.

I only find one driver that is slightly out of date and it is a Microsoft Driver. It may be OK; but I suggest you try to update through the link provided.
NuidFltr.sys Fri May 08 04:53:31 2009 - Microsoft Intellipoint mouse driver. Software Download.
We will wait for your Memtest results and go from there. If there is any way you can do so, try another PSU.

Oh wow thank you! I'll be sure to go down the list starting with a different PSU.

As for the taking all the RAM out and leaving 1 in and rebooting... I did that to all 4 sticks and the system still crashed. Some got further in the start up than the others did, but ultimately the computer still crashed.

I'm running the memtest now. I'll have access to a new power supply on Monday. I'll try switching it out then. It's been running for about 10 mins now and not even past 50% on first pass so after reading the tutorial I'll have to wait a while... Not a problem though I got the patience for this. All that matters is that I'm getting closer to finding the issue to fix. Thank you again for your help so far.

I was wondering... after the 7 passes or more are done... does it stop by it self or do I do that? I mean... is there any data I need to give you after I run it?

Alright so after 11 and a half hours 7 passes have went. Each pass I witnessed and none had any errors.

Does this mean it's definitely not my RAM that's the issue?

If you saw no red on your screen, Memtest found no errors. What that means is your RAM is probably OK. No test is 100% perfect. On rare occasions I have seen Memtest report no errors and in fact the RAM was bad. But it is a good sign. And you are welcome for the help. Until you get a poser supply to try, test your CPU and RAM with Prime95 following these instructions: https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...t-prime95.html. Run 3 separate tests, one on each of the settings (Blend, Small FFTs, Large FFTs). Report back with the results.
