Hi there,

After I updated all my drivers and deleted what Fimble suggested. I still have a problem. But just now I turned on the computer for the first time today and it restarted after 4 minutes, totally automatic. I'm not sure if there was a BSOD before it restarted.

So another dumpfile!
I hope someone can find this problem

Thanks!
Lotte

Hi lottedeman.

Well, the good news is that no new dump file was generated so it most likely didn't crash.

Tell me, has Windows Automatic Updates just run? Have you disabled the default setting of Windows Update Automatic Restart (if required)?
Windows Update will automatically restart your computer after 5 minutes if you haven't manually restarted it yourself. It does this as some updates need to install when no system files are in use.

To disable the Auto Restart so you can do it at your own leisure, copy the following code and save it as a .reg file. Then merge it into your registry.[/b]
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU]
"NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers"=dword:00000001

I thought the problem was fixed..

But just now again when I freshly started the computer for the day I had a BSOD.
So here again my dumpfile.

I also checked my windowsupdate and there is one update which cannot be installed (so windows says) errorcode:"windowsUpdat_80073712""windowsUpdate_dt000"

Also my windows explorer hangs quite often.

And I have still the idea that these BSOD's only happen when the computer is started up for the first time of the day and is still cold. if that helps.

So anyone idea's
Thanks a lot already for helping!

Run Memtest86+ overnight, after your computer has been off for an hour or two so it has a cold start. Let it run for at least 7 passes / 6-8 hours. If errors appear before that you can stop that particular test.
Note!! Any time Memtest86+ reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad Mobo slot. Test RAM sticks individually. When you find a good one then test it in all slots. Post back with the results.

Hi Fimble,
Thanks again for you quick response,

I'ver done the memtest86 already twice, with no errors even when I left it all night running.
But i'm not sure if I ever did that when it was cold. so I'm going to prepare everyting now so I can run it cold tonight.
thanks!

Think of it like starting a car on a cold morning. Once it's warmed up a bit....
B.T.W There are no new dump file generated. The latest is dated ‎07 ‎February ‎2011, ‏‎10:35:36.
You can delete the old dump files now if you wish.

After that I let the computer cooldown And ran the memtest another time. This time it ran for 36 hours, scanned 20 times all the 9# tests but no errors.
