Hard drive thrashing upon shutdown

    Sorry, I meant that I didn't understand the cause and was just trying to throw out some more ideas. I did update the bios successfully as well as the Sata Controller on the board.

    At this point I'm going to try to simplify the problem by doing a fresh install of Win 7 and letting that take up the whole drive. I'm wondering if that EasyBCD program was causing some problems w/ the dual boot setup.
