Hard drive thrashing upon shutdown
Hello,
I've searched for a solution to my problem but have not found any. I'm having thrashing upon shutdown of my windows 7 box and can't figure out why. I have tried the obvious such as updating the bios, updating the sata bios, updating all drivers, disabling the floppy and testing the hard drive, memory, and proc.
Here are some specs:
-Fresh install, updated to current updates
-Abit IN9-max32x motherboard (latest bios)
-Pentium 4 HT 2.8 processor
-wd1500ahfd 150gb sata hard drive (windows tells me this is the most up to date driver)
-Nvidia Geforce 7600 GS (tried different versions of the nvidia driver)
-Dual booting XP ( everthing there is fine)
Now I have noticed no clicking or problems in XP and compared the drivers there w/ the ones listed under the hard drive in 7. Both os's contain Disk.sys and PartMgr.sys. Only 7 has SiRemFil.sys listed. The Disk.sys and PartMgr.sys on 7 list the date 6/21/06 and version 6.1.7600.16385. The Disk.sys and PartMgr.sys on XP list the date 7/1/06 and version 5.1.2535
I'm at wit's end here and dont know what else to try... Any help would be appreciated.
