Windows 7: Random BSODs on new computer

Random BSODs on new computer

I just recently built my own computer, and it has been randomly blue screening since I first turned it on. When I looked at the dump files, it seemed like it was cause by something different every crash. I feel like I've tried everything to no avail.

-I've done multiple memory tests with a few passes with no problems
-I've done a fresh intall of Windows twice
-I updated every possible driver I think of
-I updated my BIOS
-I've tried taking one stick of RAM out and alternating between the sticks

And right now I'm in the process of alternating between sticks of RAM and alternating between memory slots. I don't have all my memory dumps right now because I just did a fresh install of window yesterday. I'm thinking about sending my RAM back to Newegg and getting some new stuff. Do you think this could possibly be the problem? or would sending in the ram just be a waste of time. I'm just worried there is something wrong with my hardware and there's gonna be no way to figure out what causing it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would give the guys here a chance to see your dump files before returning hardware. ...just because a driver is updated doesn't necessarily mean it's the right one, or working well with windows. If your RAM has been passing memory tests I wouldn't be so quick to blame it.

More detailed assistance will be available here when you can provide a dump file for the community to look at.

What I'm seeing does point to bad RAM. (and too a lesser extent firefox) Though I'm a baby debugger. Barring anyone else's input I would suggest running memest. - Memory Diagnostic

Since you've already apparently played with the ram this apparently isn't a complete suprise to you.

I would first uninstall AVG, including Identity Protection. AVG is a known cause of BSOD on some Windows 7 systems and same as third-party anti-virus. Use this removal tool when you're done removing AVG: AVG - Download tools

Use Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) as replacement:

This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is

Windows Ultimate x64

I've done a few scans of my memory with no errors. I'll try removing avg and see if that helps. But if all the crash dumps are all pointing to different processes as the cause of the BSOD, wouldn't it make sense that there's something wrong with the RAM?

For memtest.

Do this overnight, run at least 7 passes (takes 6-8 hours). test each ram individually and do this in cold boot (after your computer has been turned off for few hours).

If any error occurs. Stop the test and post back results/screenshots
