Could not uninstall ATI Drivers in Safe Mode, error message WIndows installer not accessible in Safe Mode'?

Uninstalled ATI CCC & Drivers with Admin rights, back to safe mode, ran Driver cleaner, then rebooted.
Installed ATI drivers v10.11 as per instructions.
Rebooted and started WMP and VLC player same issue!

Also moved G Card to a different PCI slot on MOBO ...same issue!

Cant think of anything else to do??

You description above sounds like a video problem. I had very similar symptoms with a brand new card and no changes of drivers would make it work. I got another card and after experimenting with the drivers, I got it right and I have not had a problem since.

Bugcheck 116, VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE. Usual causes: Video driver, overheating, bad video card, ?BIOS, ?Power to card.
The fact that when you uninstalled Catalyst and the graphics card drivers and did not get a BSOD is a pretty good indication that Catalyst and/or your video card and drivers is/are the problem. If i understand correctly, you installed only the video drivers and still had the same problems. Is this correct? If so, I would try another video card - and without Catalyst. The fact the you performed a clean boot and had no problems pretty well tells us that Windows is not the problem. And your drivers all look up to date.

Try testing your video card with only the drivers installed with Furmark. Follow the instructions in this tutorial: Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark. I really don't have a lot of faith in Furmark; but it is worth trying.

Windows 7 Home premium 64bit

All,

Tried all your advice, and still had the issue, so did a clean install of Win 7 onto my Samsung SSD.

Using PS2 mouse and keyboard
Purchased new HIS HD5770 graphics card

Ran chkdsk find and repair on both Win7 Samsung SSD and on my Samsung 1TB hard drive used for data.

Can run VLC player, Windows media player, and Windows media center at the sme time no problem running media files from my PC hard drive!!

However when I open IE8 (64bit) and use it for a while, at the same time as running the media players above (WMP, WMC & VLC)....BSOD!

Also tried using IE8 (64bit) on its own (no media players or other programs open) and after a short while 10-20 mins....BSOD!
(CPU temps are all fine 27-37deg C)

Thought it might be a network card issue, as there is one onboard the ASUS p7p55D LE mobo, I have checked and installed the latest drivers from ASUS, and verified that they are in place.

So I am still in trouble.

I have attached the mini dumps as usual, appreciate your feed back.

Edit...just thought of trying IE8 32bit version, perhaps its a 64bit problem??
Edit...not a 64bit problem with IE8 got BSOD with 32bit version!...it seems to happen when I am scrolling the web pages up and down.....its infuriating!!

Bugcheck 101: CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT
Usual Causes: Processor (CPU)

Please run Prime95 for CPU errors: https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...t-prime95.html
Run Blend and Small FFTs.

Update your ASACPI.sys 2005 driver,

Code:
ASACPI.sys Mon Mar 28 15:30:36 2005
Note   Note
The 2005 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.
Please visit this link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- download_item_mkt
Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit " (it's about the 12th item down).
Download and install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2005).

Regards...

Dean

Thanks DeanP

Already ran Prime95, no issues noted.
ATK0110 driver installed, ASACPI.sys is now 2009 version
....still BSOD issues (machine exception............ and clock interrupt.............)

It seems that I can run my PC in 'safe mode' with VLC player running and IE8 running with streaming a video fromm internet. Also leaving it running for hours and there are no issues.

Now booting PC in normal mode, and the more graphics intensive programs I start the quicker I get a BSOD.

I am pretty sure (even though I am no expert) that its still a Graphics related issue. I also swapped out the HIS HD5770 graphics card with the new one and then back to the old one.....same issues and BDOD's

.....Could it be a PSU issue, as the graphics card is put under more load (running VLC, WMP and WMC and the IE8) and it seems that if I start one of these programs only.......PC runs longer before a BSOD event, if I run all of the programs together BSOD happens within minutes?

Is there anyway of checking out the PSU or the voltages for the graphics card or the CPU (if relevant?) or something like that? again please note I havent done this before and am clutching at straws.

Current PSU is rated at 700W and is made by Hec (X-Power)

thxs!

Please upload those dumps.
CLOCK_INTERUPT sounds like a CPU fault to me. If I was you, I would do a CPU stress test. Do Prime95 and leave it running for several hours.

Run Blend and Small FFTs test.
Use Speedfan to monitor your temperatures.

This BSOD is usually caused by an outdated BIOS or a defective CPU
Win 7 A Clock Interrupt... BSOD (101 Error)
STOP 0x101: CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT troubleshtg

Go to your motherboard's website and check your version of your BIOS. See if there are any problems you are having that are solved by a a later version. I do not often recommend flashing the BIOS because there is a risk involved. If there is problem addressed by a BIOS that applies to your computer, consider flashing your BIOS to the latest version. If you choose to do this, flash you BIOS outside of Windows.

Follow Dean's suggestion for running Prime95

How long should I run Prime95 for? a few hours on each of the tests? or a few hours in total?

Ran Prim95 before but ~2hrs per test..no issues, but will try again for a longer period. last time CPU reached max temp of 85 deg!!
