    Non-Compliant ACPI Bluescreen

    Hi,

I'm having trouble getting Win-7 to work on my HP Pavilion Dv-9700 (HP Pavilion dv9744eo specs - gdgt). I got it second hand, so it didn't have any OS installed on it. Tried XP, which worked good. I think it has Vista installed when you buy it. Win 7 on the other hand, does not work.

I can install successfully, it enter Windows and work perfectly, but after the first reboot Windows Error recovery prompts me too choose to either repair or start normally. Either way I get a blueescreen stating that "The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant".

I have updated my BIOS to the latest version, to no avail. There seems to be no trace of any ACPI settings in the BIOS whatsoever.

    What should I do?

Is the Hard Disk set to ACPI or IDE?

I have solved my problem by installing Win 7 64-bits.
