Near-Constant BSoD, Multiple Listed Causes
A friend brought me his Gateway NV52 Laptop with OEM Win7 Home Premium 64bit. It had a virus (Antivirus 8, a run-of-the-mill fake AV), and Windows is claiming to be non-genuine. As soon as I removed the virus, and moved on to figuring out how to fix Windows Activation, it started giving BSoD all the time. Often before I can even do anything, but ALWAYS if I try to run RKill to check for rootkits or other nastiness. From my rookie analysis of the minidump files, it looks like the ntoskrnl is the culprit, but that doesn't seem right... Any help from the gurus here would be greatly appreciated!!
Most of the errors were IRQL Less than or Equal, but a few of them were System Service Exception.
Thanks in advance!!
