BSOD yesterday and now no mouse scrolling.

Hi! Thanks in advance for any help, I've run into a very frustrating situation.

Background: I bought and attempted to install a Logitech Cordless Optical Trackman (trackball mouse). It did not install automatically as advertised and I did a lot of restarting trying to get it to work. In the process it also broke one of my other installed pointing devices, a Trackbar E-Motion.

Eventually I was able to re-download and install the drivers for the Trackbar, but the Trackman never worked.

It's also worth noting that I also use the regular 2-button HP wired mouse that came with the computer. The only model given is "Modguo". I can't find any driver downloads for it.

Crash: Yesterday I woke up and the monitor would not come out of sleep mode even thought the computer was on. After a hard reboot I checked the minidump and sure enough, it had BSOD'd over night.

The Weirdness: Ever since the crash I cannot use my scroll wheel in Firefox or Goggle Chrome. It works in every single other application on my computer. Same symptoms with both my mouse and my trackbar. I can click the wheel to close tabs and such, just no scrolling!

I scanned with spybot and MSE, both found a small number of items. I can't find any logs from MSE and the history tab is empty, if someone can tell me how to find those logs I will provide them.

That's it, I just really want my scroll wheel to work in Firefox and Chrome again.

    System info:
    Win 7 64bit
    Original install from HP (OEM)
    Just over 1 year old
    No OS reinstalls

Update: Another program I use daily, Komodo Edit IDE, has lost mouse-wheel support in front of my eyes. As in, I opened it and scrolled down and breathed a sigh of releif when it worked (I need this program for work all day every day). I then alt-tabbed around between Firefox and Chrome, only to come back to Komodo and find that the mouse wheel no longer works!

Same symptoms as the other programs - clicking the wheel works, but scrolling does not.

This is with both my mouse and my trackbar pointing device.

The scroll wheel still works in Windows Explorer.

Thanks to anybody who wants to try to help me out, this is becoming a nuisance for me!
