ATBroker.exe is mentioned in your last couple of dump files. Make sure the Volume Shadow Copy Service is running.

Avast!: Uninstall Avast using the Avast ASW Clear Tool until your issue is resolved. Download Microsoft Security Essentials as its replacement. Make sure Windows firewall is enabled.

Leave the existing sptd.sys as is (renamed). Run the Duplex secure installer to install sptd.sys. Reboot. Run the Duplex secure installer to uninstall sptd.sys.

I did all that you had asked, Volume Shadow Copy Service was not running so I started it.

I uninstalled Avast! using the tool. I installed Microsoft Security Essentials as stated.

I left sptd.old as it was, tried to run the installer again and it still said it was not able to run it.

After I installed Security Essentials it Blue screened. Now its not able to see the HDD on boot at all so I can no longer get in.

After turning the PC off for a few seconds and back on it now sees the HDD and I am loading it up.

Edit: It blue screened at the welcome screen and can no longer see the HDD again.

Strange. I've not known removing sptd or AV software to hide the hard drive before. The only times I've ever lost a HDD was with bad cabling (supplied as OEM).

Try to get hold of these and run in safe mode.

TDSSKiller
Malwarebytes' Free.

Possibly:
Do a start up repair.
Do a repair install.

I have ran malwarebytes. Nothing. I have ran start up repair, said this problem can not be fixed automatically. About to format and start from there. Thanks so Mich for your help.

Not a problem with the help. Just wish I'd helped you get it sorted out properly.

Sometimes though, it's easier, and quicker, to just bite the bullet....
