Another tcpip.sys and e1q62x64 BSOD on Windows 7

Hello all,

I just finished building my new computer yesterday. Everything is fine except I'm running into a IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD regularly referencing tcpip.sys and e1q62x64.sys. I saw some other threads with the same problem. People seem to fix it by updating their ethernet adapter drivers. Well I did this last night and I got another BSOD today. I've attached two dump files, one from before the update, one from after. My ethernet controller is Intel 82583V Gigabit Network Connection. I've also run the memory diagnostic tool, no problems detected. I've also attached the Performance Test information and the BSOD Dump and System File Collection App information. Just to be safe, I've ran virus, malware/spyware scans, nothing detected. I use Avast!, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and Spybot Search & Destroy.

OS Info:

Windows 7 Ultimate x64
It's actually an OEM disc (for Dell machines) I bought online and installed.
All hardware is a month old with the exception of hard drives, optical drive, sound card and PSU, which are about 2 years old.
OS installation is 1 day old.

Please help.

Thank you.

Hi xRipx and Welcome.

Your dump files blame e1q62x64.sys which you knew anyway. There's a newer version linked to below.
Old and incompatible drivers can and do cause issues with Windows 7, often giving false error codes. You've a couple of other drivers that may need looking at but this is your main headache at the moment!!

As a Priority:

e1q62x64.sys Thu Jul 08 23:07:00 2010 e1q62x64 11.7.32.1003.zip 25 ‎October ‎2010.

Driver Install - Manual method
  1. Download the driver and extract it to a folder
  2. Open the Device Manager
  3. Right click the device you wish to change the drivers for. You can select Properties > Driver > Driver Details to check you have the right device you wish to change the driver(s) for.
  4. Choose Update Driver Software.
  5. Select Browse My Computer For Driver Software.
  6. Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
  7. Select Have disk...
  8. Select Browse..
  9. Navigate to the extracted folder and double click on the .inf file
  10. Hit OK, then Next and the driver(s) will then begin to install.

I assume "relevant device" means the network adapter, correct?

This is likely your Ethernet Adapter (networking adapters)

Yeah. "Relevant device" is easier than saying "squiddly-doo 2" and getting "I haven't got squiddly-doo 2 but I have got squiddly-doo 2a" as a response!

OK, I'm currently at work, but I'll manually install that driver when I get home and I'll keep you posted on how that goes.

Thanks.

Hmm so it's not letting me install the driver. I downloaded the zip, unzipped it into my Documents folder. I run through the instructions, when I click "let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer" I have two options, they are:

"82583V Gigabit network connection version 11.4.7.0 [12/4/2009]"
"82583V Gigabit network connection version 11.7.32.0 [9/29/2010]"

Whichever one I choose, I go to select the driver file (e1q62x64.inf) and hit "Next". It says "installing driver software" for a couple of seconds then says:

"Windows Encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device

Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it.

Intel 82583V Gigabit Network Connection

The system cannot find the file specified."

My only option is the "Close" button.

Should I try a different folder? Am I doing something wrong?

Please help.

Thanks.

1. Open Device Manager
2. Expand network adapters
3. Find your ethernet adapter
4. Right click and click Update Driver Software
5. Click Browse my computer for driver softwre
6. Click Browse, locate where the installation files/folders are and then click OK
7. Click Next and the Wizard should update the driver for you.

After following the instructions posted above by DeanP, I get the message:

The best driver software for your device is already installed

Windows has determined the driver software for your device is up to date

Intel 82583V Gigabit Network Connection
