Windows 7 Certian folders refuse to open

i don't know if this is the right forum or not but:

the problem is recent and random folders when double clicking them windows makes the sound that they were opened but they are not open.

if i right click and open in new window the new window auto closes

programs like xnview are able to open the folders and so is cmd.exe just not explorer

Hi log163 and Welcome.

My first ports of call if I was in your position would be:

Run sfc /scannow to check system file integrity.
Scan with my AV and an up to date Virus database of Malwarebytes' Free. in Safe Mode.
Restore to a point prior to this happening.
