Multiple BSOD's on brand new setup.
Hello,
I came across this wonderful site in search of answers.
I have a huge problem that I have no clue where to begin. I recently started to get BSOD's when my dog just barely tapped my tower. I was playing Metro 2033 and all it did was stutter really bad then shut down. No bsod or anything. I went to boot it back up and nothing came on, except I could see my fans were on and I heard my hdd spin, but nothing else. No monitor, no keyboard, no mouse. Panic set in lol! So I unplugged everything and let it sit there for a while then started it back up. Everything worked just great! Except I started to get a bsod every now and then tagged with the nothing posting unless I left it alone. I swapped video cards with one I knew worked (ati X1800xt) installed drivers and went to reboot (no bsod at this time, and your supposed to restart after driver install) then the normal nothing comes up. So I took the x1800 out and put it back in the old system I had. Well then that wouldn't do anything either!! Seeing as I was frustrated I removed that card from the old computer and let it sit. After some time I put the x1800 back into the old computer and it worked like it never left. (I also tried the HD 6950 in the old pc and it didn't do anything either - that was before I put the x1800 back into the old pc - but I thought that might be the psu not being powerful enough) So I took the new computer apart minus the processor and left the pieces sit apart. Then I found another old board I had laying around Dfi Lanparty. I put the HD 6950 into that Dfi board installed win 7 on a diff hdd and everything worked just fine and dandy.
I had removed the new Asus Evo from the case I had thinking I might have a short somewhere and it had worked great for some time. Then the bsods happened again. So thinking it was windows and/or driver issues I tried to install windows again on the 250 gig hdd. While trying to install windows 2 different time at about 15% I would get a bsod. Frustrated I let it all sit and swapped the vid card into the old Dfi board. After a little bit I decided I would try to install windows again on the new asus board. Everything worked!! Untill this morning. I keep getting random bsods.
I came here and tried to use the file windows_nt6_bsod thing you have in your sticky post. I was getting a random bsod every stinkin time I tried to use it. So I took out 1 ram stick (since I hadn't tried the ram yet), and am now typing this long drawn out post hoping I don't get a bsod.
So thanks for the read and help!
I couldn't get the perfom /report to work properly So all I have attached is the zip file the windows program made.
