    Well, here's an update.

Within a half hour of booting the new 7264, got another blue screen.

I upped my voltages one notch on my board, as chev65 suggested, and we'll see if I have any luck with that.

Another thing I've noticed is my mouse "freezes" for a bit during bootup. It'll be working fine, then will be completely non-responsive for about a second or two halfway through bootup. I assumed it's just loading some drivers, but maybe someone has seen that happen as a symptom of a problem before.

Hopefully my constant bumping of my own thread will end up leading to help someone else with this crap I've been going through
I've seen that trick work on three different machines and they were all different. It seems that Windows 7 puts a bit more load into the chip set compaired to Vista and that combined with 4GB Ram seems to cause the BSOD's. I will say that raising my SPP voltage just one notch made my sytem completely stable again almost like magic.

As for the overclocks,.. I'm 14 hours+ Prime blend stable at 4.05GHz with my Q9650 and past 4 hours Prime Blend stable at 4.32GHz with my Ram at 1200MHz. Seems to help out my Vantage score a bit but for 24/7 the 4.05GHz setting is the one I use.

These Q9650's are great overclocking CPU's but it did take quite awhile using Prime blend to get all the settings right. They are very picky about having the settings be exact and the GTLVref settings were very important to get past the Blend test.

Good luck with this problem, I hope you get it solved soon.

I noticed I had to clock my system back after leaving vista. I could OC my rig a lot higher, than with Windows 7.

No blue screens for nearly 3 days now, even after playing Mass Effect for 3 hours. I never got more than an hour out of that game. I think the voltage change was a success!

Thanks for everyone who helped! I hope I didn't forget to rep anybody!

    Raising SPP fixed this problem.

Sounds stable to me dcostalis, my system was instantly stable system when I made that change. I was lost when that problem first occured but fortunately I figured it out after an afternoon of messing with my settings.

This is the fouth system I know of that this fix has helped so there are probably hundreds of systems with the same problems, some of them weren't even overclocking.

They should put this fix in the sticky's or something because this problem has come up quite a few times. Thanks for the rep and glad your system is stable again.

    Hi all,

been running the RC builds for a while. I tried dling multiple RTM's and the same happens with all of them. Installation seems to go ok. then right at the end of install, i get BSOD STOP: 0x00000007E.
What's funny is that my RC releases install and run with no problems. Its just all of the RTM's i have tried. any ideas?

Have you tried installing with less ram, or switching your hard drive from ahci to ata, or vice versa? Have you tried installing with a different video card, and then adding it in later?

You change it in the BIOS... It's the interface specification between your hd and the rest of the world (k, that's a lie)... Just google ahci to learn more bout it...

    I just wanted to mention...

Since fixing this issue, I have not had one blue screen of death. I have not had to restart my computer one single time due to errors, only when installing software that requires me to restart. I have never in my life had a computer running this well on any operating system, including Ubuntu 7.10, 8.04, win95, win98, nt 4.0, windows 2000, server 2003 in workstation mode, vista beta, vista rc, windows 7 beta, slackware 10, slackware 11.....
