    BSOD-Virtual PC-Page Fault

I have a brand new Dell Latitude laptop. I have created a Win 7 virtual pc on the laptop but continue to get BSOD's when i try to use the virtual pc. I am not aware of any BSOD's when i am in the base windows 7 environment.

    Dell Latitude E5510
    Ram: 4gb: 3.43 gb usable
Hdd: 250gb with 163 free space
    Windows 7 Professional 32 bit.

    Virtual PC settings:
    Windows 7 Pro 32bit
    Integration features installed and enabled
    Memory: 750mb
    Undo disk enabled
    Network Adapter: 1 enabled

I have fully updated the base windows 7 environment and the virtual pc environment (W7). Device manager shows no conflicts. I have run the dell diagnostics and no problems indicated.

    BSOD:
"Page Fault in non paged area"-this one i get very frequently and then reboots.
"IRQL not less or equal"-i got this one once recently.

I have attached a zip file of the numerous dmp files from the system.

I hope someone can help with this issue due to the urgency of my laptop.
I am trying to use this as a test environment for a software release of our application which i have yet to install. I could avoid the virtual pc concept but would then have to "recover" my system after each test.

This appears to be a driver conflict... at least on the surface.

    Reference for other debuggers follows:
    Code:
    IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If a kernel debugger is available get the stack backtrace.
    Arguments:
    Arg1: c0ddf62c, memory referenced
    Arg2: 00000000, IRQL
    Arg3: 00000001, bitfield :
        bit 0 : value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation
bit 3 : value 0 = not an execute operation, 1 = execute operation (only on chips which support this level of status)
Arg4: 826eea6b, address which referenced memory
    Driver dump:

after filling out a bunch of information for you here. I realized I don't have enough experience with all the virtualization sys files and drivers to properly diagnose you here. I will leave the information for a member that does though.

We normally ask that you follow these instructions to help out: https://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html

But, I'll run the memory dumps and see what we can find first.....

Zip file posted in my original posting

I added the zip file of the contents of the BSOD folder as listed in the posting instructions. I hope this will be of some value in helping me with my issue.

I'd have to say it's your Virtual PC program that's messed up.
Your Virtual PC files are from Sep of 2009 - while mine are from Dec of 2009.

I'd tend to blame your DC21x4 Based Network Adapter Driver For Virtualization because it dates from 2006: (dc21x4vm.sys Tue Apr 11 20:22:22 2006 (443C483E)) and mine dates from Jul 13, 2009

    I'd suggest:
Updating the Network Adapter driver or -

    - saving a backup copy of your VM's
    - uninstalling the Virtual PC program
    - then visiting the Microsoft website and downloading a fresh copy ( Windows Virtual PC: Home Page )

    List of older drivers:

Could you please run the information gathering application inside of the VM.
The stuff that you've included already will be helpful - but we'll also need the details on the VM itself.
FYI - this is more for our benefit as analysts - as it's pretty obvious that it's either the Network controller driver or the Virtual PC program that's to blame.

I have uploaded a copy of my driver in case you want to try that. As with all unknown downloads, please scan with an antivirus program BEFORE opening it.
