    Constant Freezing On My Laptop

    Hi,

    I bought a Toshiba laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium x64 Pre-Installed about 2 months ago and this problem has re-occurred and driven me insane. It used to have constant BSOD's that I could actually see but these disappeared after I called Toshiba and they told me to set the laptop back to factory settings. Things went fine for a while but my laptop started just freezing up and nothing would respond, leading me to reset using the power button. Sometimes it will come up with an error message saying something along the lines of "Windows encountered a problem" and it says click here for more details blah blah blah, and it comes up saying it has a BSOD.

    I checked the event viewer and there are a fair amount of errors that say this:

    Code:

    The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Launch permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
    {C97FCC79-E628-407D-AE68-A06AD6D8B4D1}
     and APPID
    {344ED43D-D086-4961-86A6-1106F4ACAD9B}
     to the user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM SID (S-1-5-18) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

    There is also another error (which I'm pretty sure matches up with the time of the freeze) that says this:

    Code:
    The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000117 (0xfffffa80091304e0, 0xfffff880101ac354, 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was saved in: C:\windows\Minidump\021711-21216-01.dmp. Report Id: 021711-21216-01.

    I downloaded debugging tools for windows and checked the last .dmp file and it comes up with a bunch of stuff I can't really make sense of:

    Code:
    *******************************************************************************
    *                                                                                                                       *

    I'm extremely sorry about such a big post but I have really had enough of my laptop not working the way it should, especially after paying the amount I did. Any help would be very greatly appreciated.

    EDIT: I should probably mention that this problem usually happens when trying to play "Runescape", but it has been known to occur whilst playing all sorts of games.

    Also perfmon /report has an error that says "An error occured while attempting to generate the report. The wait for the report generation tool to finish has timed out."

    Thanks for the reply. I ran FurMark first to stress my graphics card. It got to 81 degrees and it didn't look like it was going to go any higher so I exited the application, things seemed fine for about a minute and then the screen froze in a similar fashion to what I had described in my previous post. I'm going to do a fresh install of NVIDIA drivers and stress it again.

    EDIT: Did a fresh clean install and ran the FurMark again to around 80 degrees and it didn't freeze. I played Runescape again and not even 5 minutes into the game it froze and needed to be restarted manually. Event Viewer came up with these.

    "Event 6008"
    Code:
    The previous system shutdown at 2:37:43 PM on ‎17/‎02/‎2011 was unexpected.
    "Event 41, Kernal-Power"
    Code:
    The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.
    "Event 10016, DistributedCOM"
    Code:
    The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Launch permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
    {C97FCC79-E628-407D-AE68-A06AD6D8B4D1}
     and APPID
    {344ED43D-D086-4961-86A6-1106F4ACAD9B}
     to the user NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM SID (S-1-5-18) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.
