Windows 7: BSOD Happening A Lot!

Win 7 Pro x64 SP1 OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.7

You seem to have 2 AVs running on your computer. You do not want more than 1 AV running on a computer - it intends to get unstable, performance drops. Remove Avira and AVG.

Use this removal tool when they are both removed:
AVG Removal Tool - AVG - Download tools
Avira Removal Tool - No removal tool, just uninstall it.

Stick to MSE or Avast with Windows Firewall.

Regards...

Blimey Dean that was quick! Will carry out instructions (AVG is uninstalled but clearly their uninistall did not do the full job!).

I'll let you know how I get on.

I type extremely quick (106 words per minute). Use the removal tool to remove all the AVG files - and remove Avira.
Do not have more than 1 AV as I said - it intends to get the system unstable and performance drops.

Another crash

Ok. I carried out DeanP's advice. I ran the AVG unistaller tool and uninstalled Avira and after restart replaced it with MSE. I also was just running on my 4GB (2*2GB Corsair) sticks just to see as my other 2GB are the same spec just slightly different latency.

I left my PC running with MSE running a full scan. I came back and the PC was in sleep mode. After about 2 minutes on restart the PC crashed again.

I have now switched over to the 2GB configuration (2*1Gb) to see if it crashes also.

In the meantime I attach my latest dump in case someone out there can suggest something.

Thanks again for all of you having a look.

Latest pill administered

Hi DeanP,

Thanks for your latest advice. I have installed the latest RealTek driver and unistalled all Asus software of which there was a fair amount. I am back up to my full 6Gb complement and will let you know how I get on.

Many thanks again,
