    BSOD Happening A Lot!

    Hi,

I am getting the BSOD quite often (about 3 or 4 times a day). Unfortunately I only have one minidump as I recently did a clean of tempfiles. I will attach more as and when they come up.

I have no idea why this started happening though I think things got worse after Advanced System Care 3. I restored to my system as it was at the beginning of the month. I thought this would cure it but I am still getting BSOD as the current one attached happened after reverting my system.

    Thanks for any help.

    Code:
    MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (1a)
        # Any other values for parameter 1 must be individually examined.
    Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000005003, The subtype of the bugcheck.
    Arg2: fffff780c0000000
    Arg3: 0000000000002189
    Arg4: 0000248800004310
I'm thinking bad memory here. The system care app would have made the problem worse if this is the case, so it fits.
    Memory Diagnostics Tool
If you can't get that to run stable, use memtest86

    RAM - Test with Memtest86+
    Guide to using Memtest86+

that should either confirm or deny that diagnosis and we can go from there.

    Stage 1 completed

Hi MC, I ran the Windows Memory Diagnostics tool with no issues found.

I will run the Memtest+ later when I can leave the machine to run without me having to do some work.

I have re-seated the memory to see if there might have been any issues from that.

    Thanks again for your help,

Ok. Two full passes of Memtest+ 4.20. No errors.

But then, since I've reseated my memory I've had no more BSODs either. I wonder ....

    Not as simple as thought.

Hmm. Two more dumps but it's actually BSOD'd more than that but a few times not written a dump file. Two more attached dumps.

2 passes is not enough - must be at least 7.

    8 passes complete, no errors

    Right,

    I've done 8 passes on each stick of 6GB of memory I have (2 * 1Gb, 2 * 2Gb). No errors found.

I've only had a couple of crashes since last week and only one produced a mini dump (attached).

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,
