It doesn't really mean it's good or bad. Tech parts fail sometimes. I've had really nice high end stuff die really quick, and dirt cheap parts seem to last forever. It's one of those nature of the beast things...

    New drive what to do

    Gents,

Right my new drive will be here today. With what has been happening, do you think it's best to do a clean install on it or use one of my backups and restore it?

I had another BSOD just now. Could you do me a last favour and confirm you still think it's just drive related?

    Thanks,

    More BSODs ...no dumps

    Hi,

Despite the new drive, I have started getting BSODs regularly again. Though the two that happened this morning, despite reporting that a dump had been written, there were no dumps in the minidump folder.

Where do I go from here? Should I do a clean install?

    Regards,

    More BSODs!

I've had another couple of times where BSOD says it's written a dump but then I can't find anything in Mindump folder. However, one has been written again.

    Driver Verifier

I tried to use Driver Verifier and after enabling it, my system would crash each time I started it. This is the minidump from that.

    Ho hum.

I tried to use wndbg but had a symbols issue I could not get over, despite using a command to load from the microsoft symbols server.

    Cheers,

    Fixed? Fingers-crossed.

Just for your information, I have matched all my memory to be exactly the same manufacturer and I have not had a BSOD since doing this a few days ago.

Thanks all of you for your help. I hope I don't have to come back, at least for this issue!
