    KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000008e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
    happening.
    Arguments:
Arg1: c0000005, The exception code that was not handled
Arg2: 8684e055, The address that the exception occurred at
    Arg3: 9cbac6f8, Trap Frame
    Arg4: 00000000

Wow I know this doesn't help anything but I don't think I've seen a 1996 date on anything since I upgraded from win 98....

thanks for that Quick replay hahaha
    it was 2 minuits!
I will uninstall the speed fan ( was wanting to watch the machine)

I should add that all the drivers came from the retail install of win 7
this was a fresh install on a wiped fresh drive (did not want to take any old with me to new O/S)
the sound driver is not on ASUS site it came in a win7 update also, as did the PCI modem (not used) and the LAN Driver
    but I will keep looking
and go for fresh drivers of what I can and report back

    Thank you again

If you don't actively use the pci modem, I would just remove it from the system.

I had hped to install it and hook it in to the phone
for a back up, I use this machine for a gateway for our house LAN
altho all i can get for now id dail up... agh
when i built the house 8 years ago
we wanted an ISDN brought in and then after we built we where told we could not get it

anyways that is a USR soft modem that was given driver from a windows 7 update
and it turned into the "Conexant SoftK56 Modem Driver" as i guess its a Conexant chipset,

    any ways
I have and use a Serial Modem and its got win 7 drivers I loaded and win7 changed them to a windows flavor
as it did a number of drivers upon update/s

the sound card is an on board that asus has no driver that came from windows 7 update and started to work.
ther i guess is no up dated driver to date

the Intel LAN also on board shows as a
Intel® PRO/1000 CT Network Connection, and I dont know why but there are no driver for windows 7 at Intel??
should i try to test a few XP or vista drivers? or leave it for now?
and guess, has anyone else had luck with other OS driver/s

I removed speed fan tho that was what was called a win 7 driver LOL from 96 lol
and I am downloading CPU-Z for when and If I use it.

as I type this I have case side off and can feel the north bridge sink is Hot...
I wonder if i got it to hot as i was working it good (as i always do)

I will keep looking for newer drivers for those items
and now start to watch that north bridge heat also.

thank you for your pointing out those things for me
and now that i know how to record the BSOD and post it
i will let you know what i find..
over all its good and solid, i just would like it to be as sound as posb.

    Thanks again

Sounds good. Do let us know if any more BSOD occurs.
