Let us know when you get the new motherboard.

Would like to know if your RAM runs on it.

I was hesitant to say this in fear of cursing it, but I think the system is solid as a rock.

I did a Prime95 Blend Test for 7+ hours overnight, no issues, core temp of 40 deg. Next up'd be a memtest followed by some OCage!

PS: I have an SSD now, and damn it is fast!!! Boosted my framerates by about 20 as well!

Well that's just... odd, an ssd should definitely make load times faster, but it making a heavy impact on your framerates... that just doesn't make sense.

Glad to hear you got it running stable.

Did you install the new MSI motherboard?

Same RAM?

Congrats on the SSD, which one did you get?
They are a great performance upgrade.

Yeah, installed the 880GM-E41... sadly I found out that I noobed up and it only has SATA II, so I bought a different one that I'll try out when it gets here and then refund the 880GM if it works. >.>

Same RAM (2x2GB 1333 G.Skill Ripjaws XXXXXXXXXX-4GBRL), no problems. The SSD I got was a OCZ Agility 3 60GB, benched at a little less than half of it's manufacturer's specs (221 write / 232 read) but I'm pretty sure that's because I have it on SATA II which has a theoretical max speed of 300 mb/s not including overhead.

As far as the SSD leading to FPS increases... that's in reference to playing World of Warcraft. I imagine the SSD increases rendering times of mid to distant graphic features by decreasing the load times of the necessary files, just speculation though (could also just be the general stability increase of the new mobo).

Thanks for the update.

SATA III will speed up the SSD, the posted speed specs are the absolute best case scenario burst rates for highly compressible data, the average speed will be slower.
The best advantage of a SSD is the access time, which makes everything run faster, all apps installed on the SSD will be able to respond faster.

If WOW is installed on your SSD it will speed up the FPS.
There are reports of the OS installed on the SSD and games on a HDD and it will increase FPS, not as much as when it's installed on the SSD but faster.
You are right, the motherboard will have a factor in system speed.

Let us know the results of the latest new motherboard, and SATA III and your SSD.

Yes, a cheap mobo will bottleneck everything.
