really annoying alarm

In the beginning I messed around and had to restore my computer via the factory disk. I backed up all of my files, reinstalled win 7 and put all my files back. Well, the disk I had for my media player (Cyberlink) broke and this was sadly one of the few files that I did not back up. Well surprisingly enough the installation disk has a very basic cyberlink package on it (although the last time I had to do a re-installation it didn't have it). Well, I opened it and tried to update it via a link that it had in the program itself. During the update I heard a siren noise or alarm sound. It sounds like this: Red Alert From Star Trek, sound wavs, strange noises, television sound effectsjust without the "preview" voice. And now, randomly, whenever I watch a movie I hear it. Like I said it's randomly and it's only while watching a movie in Windows Media Player, Cyberlink, or even online via Netflix. I've tried to look in the Task Manager whenever it sound but I still can't pinpoint where it's coming from. I am running avast and it detects no threats and also Zonealarm firewall. Please help, I'M GOING INSANE!

P.S. here is my specs. I am running on an Gateway DX1400e

Um, have you tried to search for the "red Alert from star trek" and deleting it?

Did you check the actual Sound scheme (Control Panel / Sound) if somehow that sound got sneaked in?

red Alert from star trek isn't the file name, that's just the name of the alarm that I would find on the internet and it's not my sound scheme because I've change my sound scheme and it still goes off, however when I open my volume control it does say it's coming from "System Sounds". Anyone know of a program that can tell what sounds are coming from what specific program?

Alarm Clock
I want an alarm say every 15, 20, 30 or whatever minutes to go "ding" or make some kind of sound though my speakers because I'm not well and would like to work say for 20 minutes and then rest for 20 minutes for a couple of hours until I get things done. Does Windows 7 have something like this or...

Alarm Clock
I would like to find a good free download for an alarm clock, because the one that I used in the past (World Time by Pawprint) sets off the spyware/malware alarms on several of my security programs. Would anyone know of such a program, that they are confident that is is spyware/malware free?

Alarm clock?
Is there a sort of alarm clock in Windows? I mean that sort of thing that I set e.g. to 3:15 pm and it goes off and displays a notice that reminds me of what I wanted to do at that time. I seem to remember that there was a thing like that in Win 95, but it was dropped in WinXP and I haven't...

MSE and Zone Alarm
I installed MSE the other day and right away had system hangs after boot. Went through the boot list and disabled things to troubleshoot. Disabled Zone Alarm True Vector and no problems. Once back online I searched for MSE problems and Zone Alarm was high on the listings. Seems MSE doesn't like ZA...
