Windows 7: BSOD after waking display

Hi again,

according to dxdiag, it is a AMD Radeon HD 6550M which is according to other websites identical to HD 5650 but only re-labeled.

Yesterday night, I installed a custom made video driver (which integrates the latest AMD Mobility Radeon drivers into the special package needed for hybrid platforms) from the german Acer user forum (link). Since then I did not experience any more bsods (after waking the screen). I keep on testing and will report any upcoming events.

Thank you - I really appreciate the help I get from you guys!

EDIT: I did a brief analysis of the verifier.exe indicated minidump and found out the bsod in question was caused by a deamon-tools driver. after uninstalling deamon-tools there were no bsods during bootup with verifier.exe enabled.

Yes, Daemon Tools is a known cause of BSOD with Windows 7. Good job on finding the driver - I apologise if I have not able to help finding it as I have assignments to hand and I am a really busy person.

Let us know if you need anything else.

Thanks for uploading the Driver Verifier enabled dump. Is Verifier still running? If not, turn it back on and let it run for 48 hours. The Driver Verifier dump directly blames dtsoftbus01.sys, a Daemon Tools driver. Uninstall Daemon tools. After you unistall run this program to remove sptd.sys, DuplexSecure - Downloads. Select uninstall; do NOT select reinstall. Let's see if this helps your system. Please let us know. And upload any and all Driver Verifier enabled dumps.

To answer your question about memory corruption; it is not a necessarily a sign of bad RAM, though that is a possibility. Bad RAM does cause memory corruption. Most often it means that something ( a driver) is causing a conflict by trying to use the same memory address simultaneously as another driver, something is trying to use an improper memory address, something did not let go of a memory address when it was finished. Your previous dumps indicated memory corruption is occurring. The dumps did not blame memory for the crashes. The Verifier dump specifically blames
dtsoftbus01.sys. There is always the possibility that another driver conflicted with dtsoftbus01,sys. That is why we keep running Verifier.

I did not read your post thoroughly. Good job of uninstalling Daemon Tools. It is a known BSOD maker on some Win 7 Systems. Please turn on Driver Verifier again and let it run for 48 hours. If you have no more BSOD's, you can then turn it off. We want to make sure there is not another bad driver lurking about.
