BSOD after waking display

Hey,

I got an annoying problem with my 1 month old Acer Timeline X 5820TG notebook computer. Nearly every time when waking the display after it turned of while not using the computer, my notebook crashes with a bsod. I have no clue whats the reason, it started aprox. one week ago but I do not remember any significant changes in configuration or anything else.

This is what windbg revealed about the minidump:

I already tried uninstalling and wiping the graphics card drivers. Re-installed them but no changes. I also searched for updated drivers, but the utility from AMD website could did not recognize the graphics card properly.

Help and comments are appreciated. Sorry for grammar/spelling/wording

Thank you for uploading the files. I looked at your four most recent dumps. All of them are the same bugcheck code, 3B; all of them blame dxgkrnl.sys, Windows system Direct X Driver and very unlikely to be the real cause; and all indicate memory corruption.
Quote:
Bugcheck 3B, System Service Exception. Usual causes: System service, Device driver, graphics driver, ?memory.
Are you running any kind of a third party security such has a game security program, anti-keylogger security program, banking security program, wi-fi security program, etc?

I suggest that you enable Driver Verifier carefully following the instructions in this tutorial: Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable. If Drive Verifier finds a faulty driver, it will trigger a BSOD. Please upload all Verifier enabled dumps files.

Hi Carl,
thank you for your help so far! What exactly means memory corruption? Is it a problem caused by a hardware issue?

Quote:
Are you running any kind of a third party security such has a game security program, anti-keylogger security program, banking security program, wi-fi security program, etc?
I run none of these programs you named. I have installed Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas, but I don't know if they come with some special security program. I can uninstall those games and try verifier.exe again if you like.

The verifier.exe produced a bluescreen after rebooting, see attached minidump file.

You probably need to install proper version...
- Boot into Safe Mode with Networking
- Uninstall the Display Drivers including Catalyst Control Center
- Use Driver Sweeper to sweep the traces of the previous driver Guru3D - Driver Sweeper
- Install the latest Previous ATI Catalyst
- Reboot into normal mode

Memory Corruption are usually caused by memory (RAM) or old drivers.

Thanks for your help, Dean. I already read this instructions in another post on bsods and tried as well uninstalling/sweeping as installing the suggested drivers. Unfortunately the driver installations program you linked to stated that it could not recognize compatible hardware components. I think this might be because of the hybrid grapfics solution. Some sources say those dedicated graphics cards need special customized drivers for running in team with an intel graphics chip... any other ideas?

Type in dxdiag in start search box and then find the name of the GPU under device.

I'm asking this because the graphics card you mention does not show in the model.
