Multiple freezes BSODs per day for the last 3 weeks
Hello. I hope that someone can assist me to resolve this issue. For the last 3 weeks or so my system has frozen and or BSOD's for no easily apparent reason. Here's some background along with the required items from the excellent posting instructions.
- Problem does not occur in safe mode I think. Only ran in safe mode for a few 1/2 days because of the limitations of using the system in safe mode.
- I removed AVG and replaced with MSE - no improvement.
- I ran Memtest86 overnight and no errors
- I ran Prime95 for about 1 hour with no errors. I stopped because the CPU was running at 69C which is a lot hotter than usual for me.
- The internal fans all work OK and is clean of dust etc
- I checked the PSU with a HWMonitor and except for the -ve rails being way off it was OK. I read that the -ve rails are not used on modern pcs and so it shouldn't matter.
- I ran disccheck /r and defragged
- I've used WinDbg and the best I could determine was a hardware fault called lmvm hardware
Other details:
Is Windows 7 . . .
- x86 (32-bit) or x64 ? X64 Pro
- the original installed OS on the system? Yes
- an OEM or full retail version? Full Retail
- OEM = came pre-installed on system
- Full Retail = you purchased it from retailer
- What is the age of system (hardware)? about 15mos
- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) 14mos
Thanks very much in advance, Derek
