Won't go past boot screen !

My Acer Aspire X1700 won't go beyond the Acer boot screen. It was on when I lost power a few days ago. It now makes a weird buzzing noise (fan is like BROOOSH and it is like aaaaaaa). When I press delete (for BIOS) or f12 (for boot device selection), it does nothing.

Eventually I got it to get to this screen:
Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key.

Wtf is this? I have it on alot (I have a game server running most of the time), so I tried a static electricity reset (unplug everything and hold power button for half a minute) and that only got me to the above message.

I read something about "reseating" the HDD, but theres a "warranty void if opened" sticker on the chassis. Even if I open it, its a compact machine, so I dont even know if theres another slot?

Now, with POST messages enabled, it says: 3rd Master Hard Disk error !!!
My machine is relatively new, so this is shocking (if it means the HDD is busted). And I have TONS of stuff I don't want to lose.

Please help, I desperately need this fixed. I'm already considering a... MAC !!
