Heat kills !
Recently experienced several crashes after experiencing some strange behavior. Downloads disappearing, glitches of all sorts.............
Installed a new backup program for just in case (Acronis True Image 2011), used it for awhile...........kept experiencing anomilies of all sorts.............uninstalled Acronis thinking somehow it might be part the problem but then I couldn't access the original Windows Backup & Restore interface so after recieving some advice here I ended up reinstalling Acronis...........then experienced another crash
Got really frustrated trying to recover the system image using Acronis so I finally decided to ask for some help..........went to talk to the Geek Squad @ Best Buy where I had originally purchased the Dell XPS 8000 desktop CPU, he said it probably was the hard drive going bad so I bought a new one and installed it. Sure enough it worked and so did Acronis..........I was able to get things up and running properly with full functionallity .
While inside the Dell, couldn't help but notice all of the stickers........... made in China / Mexico / Thailand, etc. .............couldn't find any parts that said made in the USA...........guess we really are a global marketplace and gotta keep costs down.
I also couldn't help but notice the dinky fans used to cool the system and suspected that some of my issues were heat related so after getting everything up and running I installed a HDD monitoring program and sure enough the temps were too high !!!!!!!!!!!! Why they use Celcius versus Farenheit I don't understand but the I now realize that I need to cool things down and am now looking at upgrading the cooling sytem inside the CPU case............guess heat really does kill !
