    Installation stuck in system

Whenever I try to install a program, installatiin fails because I already have a installation running. I traced the installation to VB08. How do I terminate rhe installation?

    Hello Dtox23, welcome to SF!

Can you please give us some more info? Exactly what are you installing? How does it tell you that you have one running already? What have you tried already?

Have your tried rebooting in Safe mode to install (or finish install) there?
Could it be your install needs elevated/admin rights?

Also please fill in your system specs completely?
    Thx..

OK so I'm trying to install Games for Windows Live. Installer says I have another installation running and that I need to finish it first. I don't get that notification on other programs, just games. Games installers usually revert the current install and install the game completely(installation bar goes from full to empty when reverting).
I didn't try to finish the install cause I got another version of VB. I have admin rights

Here is part of the log from GFW installer

    Welcome to Windows seven Forums.

It sounds as though the attempted install of Visual Basic 2008 has gone bad.

See if there's any reference to it in Uninstall Programs. If not, I'd be inclined to go for a system restore to point before you tried to install VB 2008, and then see if you can install your Windows Live games.

If they do, you can then try and install VB 2008 again.

Problem is that I tried to install VB 2 or 3 months ago. I will try the fix now
Is there a chance I could fix it by trying to install VB08 again?
