    random BSOD crashes

Recently i've been getting some random BSOD crashes (ie.about once every day).

I don't exactly remember but about 4days ago, i noticed that my computer had a new program installed that i didn't remember actually installing. so i went to control panel and tried to uninstall it. I'm a bit hazy on the details after that (i dont remember if it successfully uninstalled) becuase i wasn't really concerned at the time. but i remember i started getting a lot of problems with my computer after that. My programs didnt work and when i restarted, i had a problem with start up and it kept freezing on loading personalized settings. after a few tries and reboots, i managed to log in okay, and i ran a malwarebytes full scan. There were 13detected files or so. However im still getting random BSOD crashes.

Any help would be great thanks.

Oh and I have a msi ex300 laptop about 2 years old running 32bit windows 7 professional from about 1.5 years ago?

"sysapp.exe" Is the faulting program, but its actually a virus so start by doing a virus scan and see if it removes it.

Scan it using this program: http://www.malwarebytes.org/

okay somehow my computer has been infected with a virus called win 7 antispyware or somethig along those lines and I can barely use the internet from my laptop now. (this is from iPod touch) I tried downloading this rKill.exe which was supposed to stop all the procresses of the virus so I could start malwarebytes but every time I try to run it I get a BSOD crash. even when In safe mode. either that or my laptop jsut freezes and I have to force shut down.

what do I do ?? and if this is in the wrong forum would someone kindly move my thread to the virus forum?

okay so i finally managed to run malwarebytes. after like 10+ bsod crashes
and the win 7 antispyware thing is gone.
however when i use opera, i keep getting random sites popping up without me doing anything.
i also seem to keep getting redirected to random spam sights when i use google. i believe this to be a virus.
i havent had a bsod crash. yet.

by format, do you mean my whole computer or just say one of my main drives? i have a C drive with my os and programs and a D drive with my data. i really dont want to be formatting either unless it really cant be helped.

Ya that's what I mean by formatting, install Firefox: Mozilla | Firefox web browser & Thunderbird email client and see if you can download MSE: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/ and run a full system scan and see if it picks up anything.

    good so far

As per the original post... I removed Spyware Doctor and installed the free MS product (that's all) and after leaving the computer running for over 24 hrs - NO BSOD's!!!
I will follow your other suggestions this weekend.

Johnathon, thank you so much.... hopefully that was all I needed.

so i ran the mse. it picked up on a few things? but i cant seem to find a log. but all of them seemed java related?
    eg. Exploit:Java/CVE-2010-0840.BE
the redirecting has eased. but its still happening on my preferred browser opera once every 4 or so hits.
havnt had the same problem on IE or firefox though.
havnet had a bsod crash yet either.
