    Desktop screen flickers and crashes

Been running Windows 7 32-bit for a while now with no problems. Yesterday though i've found that whenever I boot up the OS, the desktop screen flickers with little purple and green dots along the program bar at the bottom of the screen and on any icons. The main wallpaper does not.

Everything freezes, I have no control either with the mouse or keyboard. Happens every time i try to reboot.

Booted once in safe mode, worked ok, found these error codes:

    Problem Event Name: Bluescreen.
    BC Code 116
    BCP1 85437510
    BCP2 910B5A80
    BCP3 00000000
    BCP4 00000002

BC Code 116, video_tdr_failure, possible causers:

    - faulty video card that needs to be replaced
    - bad video driver that needs to be reinstalled with the use of the driver sweeper
    - overclocked hardware, as well as overheating
    - wrong memory settings in the bios

Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

If you see video artifacts this likely means the card has bit the dust.

Ok... it can't be option 4 since its been working for weeks. Its definitely not 3 since i've never done that. Just completed step 2 and installed the latest drivers.

That leaves me with option1 - My video card is dead.

It's very individual, I do not overclock my cards and they usually last for 4 years.

Yeah, my old card was about 4 years old. The new one doesn't have a fan so might last longer?
