irql_not_less_or_equal...b/c I connected 2 monitors?

Hi, Please help investigate.... I've attached bsod.zip:

Windows 7 . . .
- x64
- the original installed OS on the system
- full retail version

- age of system (hardware): 2 months
- age of OS installation: 1 month

Thanks very much.

I should also mention:
This only happens while the computer is booting up.
It doesn't happen every time.... It happens maybe 1 out of 10 reboots?

Thanks for the prompt response. I couldn't figure out how to update the driver, so I just uninstalled Cisco IP Communicator for now.

I suppose I'll just leave it off my system for 2 or 3 weeks, and if I no longer encounter this issue, then I'll conclude that CipcCdp.sys was truly the culprit. Thanks again.

Same issue - crash caused by Cisco IP Softphone.

Hello,

I came across this post as a result of a Google search for CIPCCDP. We have several machines using the Cisco IP Softphone which are BSOD'ing randomly on startup (all Win7 Enterprise x64). Sometimes it may crash several times in a row before actually booting into Windows. Based on the .dmp files, I've also confirmed that the cipccdp.sys file is the culprit. We're running HP machines here, and although we have Elitebooks ranging from 8510, 8530 and 8540 models, only the 8540 models are plagued with this.

I've actually sent the logs over to our networking group who has some better contacts at Cisco than I do, and have asked them to open a ticket on this issue. I will bookmark this page and update if I find anything more out.

My apologies: I lost track of time and forgot to update this thread. (BTW, I didn't get an email notification that mcarnes posted to my thread a week ago.)

Anyway, good news: I'm pretty sure I didn't encounter a BSOD for 3 weeks after uninstalling Cisco IP Communicator. Thanks again, yowanvista!

Not so good news: I encountered a BSOD this morning. Please see bsod2.zip Also, please let me know if I should have started a new thread instead of updating my original one.

Thanks all.

Two more BSODs this morning.... This time was little different, though: I rebooted after the first BSOD, and went straight into the second BSOD. (Prior to today, I don't believe I ever encountered 2 BSODs in a row after subsequent reboots.)

Please advise.

Please uninstall that device/program or browse to C:\windows\system32\drivers and change CipcCdp.sys to CipcCdp.bak

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If a kernel debugger is available get the stack backtrace.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000000, memory referenced
Arg2: 0000000000000002, IRQL
Arg3: 0000000000000000, bitfield :
	bit 0 : value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation
bit 3 : value 0 = not an execute operation, 1 = execute operation (only on chips which support this level of status)

Thanks mgorman! Cisco IP Communicator was uninstalled ~3 weeks ago, so this time I went ahead and renamed CipcCdp.sys to CipcCdp.bak.

If there's anything else I should do, please let me know.

Thanks again.
