    Startup problem

    Thanx Bill2.
I hv a problem wit my sony vaio.i cldnt startup last week becuz i changed the active partition to C (No bootmngr found) so i had to use F10 (vaio recovery) to recovr it.Now its not starting up without a startup repair CD i downloaded online and even more it takes an hour to startup.
i dont have a recovery CD.After booting it seems to regain its normal operational speed wit time but thats after 2 hours.i keep getting differnt errors(0x80070057,0x80070103,0xc00000e9)
iv done a Disk Check, reg clean, spyware sweep and even a startup repair. Cld dis b becuz i use Mcaffe dats not patched wit d latest patch?
All dis slow startup started after downloading a file from rapid share.i dont think its a hardware problem, d laptop is just 4 months old.
Wot other options do i hv since i cant lay my hand on an original Windows 7 CD.

Lesson learned....sites like this aren't to be trusted as well as the files they contain.

I'd call the mfg and see if they have a suggestion.

I suggest starting all troubleshooting with the following diagnostic tests. They'll save you a lot of time and heartache if there is a hardware failure, and you'll have the disks on hand in case you need them in the future:
    H/W Diagnostics:
Please start by running these bootable hardware diagnostics:
Memory Diagnostics (read the details at the link)
HD Diagnostic (read the details at the link)

Also, please run one of these free, independent online malware scans to ensure that your current protection hasn't been compromised: Free Online AntiMalware Scanners (read the details at the link)
