Yep I deleted my older version and uploaded Realtek Function driver for Realtek Azalia audio chip version R2.54 and it still crashes.

I needed to update that driver anyways so at least I did not waste my time.

Alright, same here. Updating the drivers has done no good for me. What antivirus program do you use?

I too am having an issue. sounds very similar. I am using Norton. So it seems that it is not my system so much as a PB update error? or am I reading this incorrectly?

I also uninstalled my anti-virus, still crashed.

    So that's not it.

    Hi

    Same problem for me.
I have the GA-X58A-UD7 motherboard which is the same chip set.
I played BFBC2 for month without any problems, and suddenly last Tuesday it started to crash after 10-15 minutes. The only system change that has been done is the Windows update the very same day. Unfortunately I tried fixing the issue with the Win7 SP1 update, which didn't help. The only thing I got for that is that I am no longer able to make system restore and a rollback to the day before SP1.
Beside I went to the Realtek site and found a newer update there (2.58). That didn't help either.
I have ordered a Soundblaster soundcard to see if it helps.

I installed an Asus soundcard just yesterday and I still have the problem. Let me know if the card works for you.

I suggest everyone to call EA at this number and ask for Tier 2 tech person, that way the more people that call the higher prioity this problem will get - 866-543-5435.

I called them and talked to Tier 2 tech Lane from EA they are getting flooded with this problem, they know about it and have zero fixes at this time because it just happened last Wednesday and they need some time in talking to PB to figure out a fix. EA believes that the last PB patch was corrupted in some manner.

For my time they gave me a $20 coupon at the EA store that I can use toward any game in the future.
Lane at EA was very courteous and professional and was honest, currenlty they don't have an answer but they are working on it.

He said they will post on the BFBC2 EA forum and announce. They advise eveyone to wait for the announcement, which is what I am going to do. There is no need to waste more time configuring my computer when my computer is working fine. Lane did mention and I do know this is true, BFBC2 was made for XP it was not tested for Vista or 7 but they said it does run in those formats and we should not be having this problem.
