    Win7 x64 BSODs - dxgmms1.sys / usbport.sys / IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

    Hi,

I've had regular BSODs with varying file references and error messages in the last few days. It only seems to happen while playing games or watching videos and has become very frustrating.

I'm running Win7 x64 Ultimate retail which is a clean install from a month or so ago. At the same time I got new hardware (CPU, Memory and Mobo) but I hadn't had any issues until now. The only "old" hardware is a couple of harddrives that I use for storage. Other than that everything is under a year old.

    Thanks

    Hi Mate,

Seems like some Hardware component has cause the problem. Lets run some tests and see what we can find. First disconnect all the devices connected to USB port like Gaming pad etc.

Run a Hardware Diagnostic Hardware Diagnostic | Captain Debugger

    Code:
    DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (d1)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high. This is usually
caused by drivers using improper addresses.
If kernel debugger is available get stack backtrace.
    Arguments:
    Arg1: 0000000000000040, memory referenced
    Arg2: 0000000000000002, IRQL
    Arg3: 0000000000000000, value 0 = read operation, 1 = write operation
Arg4: fffff880048025af, address which referenced memory

    Debugging Details:

    Thanks Captain.

I will run some of these tests when I get the chance.
