Would be the RAM. I am sitting at 12GB of RAM leaving the 4th slot empty and everything seems to be running smoothly so far.

I went into the BIOS and upped the DRAM to 1.65V, but CPUID still says my RAM is sitting at 1.5V.

Now try adding that fourth stick back in, see if you get crashes again.

Comp stopped and restarted with 3 sticks in and the voltage at 1.65. I then placed the 4th stick in at 1.65 and computer had same symptoms.

You can tell I'm not following a real plan, just trying whatever sounds best at the moment. I'm sure one of the guys skilled in RAM tweaking could do this more efficiently, but unfortunately you got stuck with me!

Run Memtest86 for 4 passes on all the RAM, see if you get errors on Pass 3 again. If not, let the test continue until Pass 7, and stop it if no errors are found.

No problem at all! You have helped out a lot! I have ran memtest86 for 2 full nights on 2 sticks at a time in the same slots without any errors. I think I am going to run it in the other 2 slots to see if I get errors. When I first ran it with all memory in all 4 slots, I came up with an error within an hour on test 3.

The key will be repeatability; if you get errors when running on all sticks again, I'll call in a RAM expert for us.

So.... All I have is LOL!!! Over 5 million errors on memtest86 running all night and day on 16GB of ram.

Is this a world record or something?

I suggest you RMA the whole kit of RAM.

Hi all,

Been a while. Took a while to get my RAM back from G.Skill(About 3 weeks). I have replaced the memory and rebuilt my system. To my demise, it did not work . Now I did not get a BSOD but rather there were streaks across my screen and caused a reboot. I looked at the logs and no BSOD log was there. I have RMA'd my hard drive and my memory. I am starting to think it is my motherboard. I will try updating it(again) to see if I get any results...

Thank you all again for the continued support!

Sorry to hear that.

I would think RMAing the motherboard is the next step. Memtest errors are usually caused by RAM, but underpowered PSU and motherboard are the next most common causes.

Three days ago my water cooling failed (got up to 77C while gaming is when I noticed the problem as my CPU should not go over 62C). BSOD at seemingly random times, memory dump blaming random drivers
I've been plagued by odd problems since making this custom build about a month ago, but the latest is the increasing frequency of BSODs. They never occur at load (gaming with high end specs), but often occur at shutdown (forcing a restart before I can then actually shut down). I normally boot into...
