Installshield remnant
Since removing some software a few days back, this irritating Installshield ghost screen appears in the middle of my screen whenever I boot from cold. It is active in the sense that even though the text is missing a mouse click on the ghost CLOSE button gets rid of it. I have tried JV16 tools to clean up rubbish shortcuts etc but that has had no effect. Any ideas where to look for this phantom startup item?

Hello,
In the start menu, enter msconfig, and press enter. In the Startup tab, check for items that may be related to the program you removed. Don't hesitate to try disabling something if you think it may be your culprit; just enable it again if it doesn't help. |

InstallShield Needed At Startup? Hey all, I was just going through my Startup's via msconfig when I noticed InstallShield listed there. Is it necessary to have it startup with Win 7? I am just a stickler for what gets loaded at startup. :) |
